Overview
The Brahmatal trek, devoted to Lord Bhrama, is another Himalayan gem that no hiker has ever seen. It could be exquisitely on the list of Himalayas coated in snow. You can see the oak and rhododendron from the way, dating back hundreds of years. The numerous areas of Roopkund Trek can be seen while strolling through meadows next to Brahamatal Ridge. With clear weather, your heart will melt at the sight of the Garhwal Foothills in the mountains.
Trip Highlights
- Scenic Alpine Lakes Brahmatal Lake: The trek is named after this sacred lake, situated at an altitude of approximately 10,440 feet. It is believed that Lord Brahma meditated here, adding a spiritual dimension to the trek. The lake often freezes in winter, creating a stunning reflective surface surrounded by snow-covered landscapes. Bekaltal Lake: Located at about 9,885 feet, Bekaltal is another picturesque alpine lake. It is known for its serene beauty and often freezes during winter. The surrounding oak and rhododendron forests enhance its tranquil ambience.

The vistas from here are breathtaking, especially during sunrise and sunset when the mountains are bathed in golden light. Jhandi Top: This viewpoint provides a central perspective of the surrounding mountain ranges, making it a perfect spot for photography and soaking in the panoramic views.
- Rich Flora and Fauna The trek passes through dense forests of rhododendrons and oaks, particularly enchanting during the spring bloom when the flowers are in full display. Wildlife enthusiasts may also spot various species such as Himalayan foxes and the vibrant Monal bird.
- Cultural Significance The trek is steeped in local mythology, with Brahmatal Lake being considered a holy site. This cultural backdrop adds depth to the trekking experience, making it not just a physical journey but also a spiritual one.
- Winter Wonderland Experience The trek is particularly popular in winter (December to March) when snow blankets the trails, offering a magical winter trekking experience. Trekkers can enjoy walking through snow-covered forests and witness stunning landscapes that seem straight out of a postcard.
